Pure Legacy (Pty) Ltd, a fast-growing exporter of premium fruits and vegetables , committed to delivering quality produce that meets the highest international standards, is in search of a detail-oriented, hands-on Quality Control Inspector to ensure our outbound shipments meet the strict quality and regulatory expectations of global markets.
Key Responsibilities: *Conduct quality inspections of fresh produce at farm-level and/or dispatch points before export *Capture inspection data and maintain accurate internal quality records *Verify compliance with export quality standards, including size, colour, maturity, and absence of defects *Ensure pre-shipment quality verification aligns with destination country requirements *Record inspection results and communicate non-conformance to the Compliance and Food Safety Manager *Collaborate with the Compliance, Logistics, and Sales teams to ensure labelling, packaging, and documentation meet export standards *Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality systems and reduce rejection rates at borders *Learn to process arrival feedback reports, participate in claims investigations, and contribute to improving fruit handling processes *Assist in compiling supplier quality profiles and support continuous improvement initiatives *Maintain quality assurance records and contribute to audit preparedness (e.g., GlobalG.A.P.).
Requirements :
• A Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Agriculture or a related field;
• No prior experience required, but willingness to learn, adaptability, and a strong work ethic are essential;
• Strong interest in fresh produce quality and international export standards;
• Basic understanding of or exposure to South African fruit export practices and post-harvest processes is advantageous.
• Familiarity with food safety standards (GlobalG.A.P., HACCP, FSSC 22000) is a plus.
• Attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and ability to work independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Afrikaans.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to farm or packhouse sites as needed.
