Our Client delivers cloud-based software solutions for community scheme management (HOAs, Sectional Title schemes) in South Africa. The Data Specialist plays a critical role in data migration, integrity, and client onboarding processes for managing agents transitioning to our Clients platforms.

📋 Duties & Responsibilities

1. Data Migration & Onboarding

• Extract, transform, and load (ETL) financial and administrative data from legacy systems (e.g., Pastel, MDA, Excel).

• Work closely with onboarding teams to ensure accurate, complete, and timely data migration.

• Map data fields between legacy systems and our Clients platform.

2. Data Analysis & Validation

• Clean, validate, and structure large datasets before import.

• Run quality assurance checks and resolve discrepancies or anomalies.

• Assist clients with interpreting and verifying uploaded data.

3. Client Support & Documentation

• Support clients and internal teams with data-related queries during onboarding and implementation.

• Create and maintain documentation related to data templates, migration processes, and best practices.

4. Collaboration & Process Improvement

• Collaborate with developers, client success, and training teams to streamline the onboarding workflow.

• Provide feedback to product and development teams on data structure limitations and improvement opportunities.

5. Compliance & Data Security

• Ensure all data handling processes comply with POPIA and internal data security policies.

• Handle sensitive customer information with the highest level of confidentiality and integrity.

🎓 Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

• Matric (Grade 12) with strong Mathematics or Computer Applications Technology.

• 2–3+ years’ experience in a data-focused role (e.g., data migration, analysis, or systems implementation).

• Experience with Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas) and CSV file handling.

Preferred:

• Tertiary qualification in Data Science, Information Systems, IT, or a related field.

• Experience working with accounting or property management software (e.g., Pastel, MDA, PayProp).

• Knowledge of SQL or other data query languages is a plus.

Skills:

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• High attention to detail and data accuracy.

• Ability to learn new software platforms quickly.

• Strong communication skills for explaining technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
