SSK currently has the following career opportunity at their Distribution Centre in Herold. This position is located at the northern end of the Montagu Pass, halfway between George and Oudtshoorn. The Logistics Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day logistics operations of the Distribution Centre to ensure the operational success of the department.

Responsibilities

• Supervision of the operational/logistical activities of the Distribution Centre, including receipt, storage, packaging, and timely and complete delivery of stock to our branches.
• Responsible for ensuring that the general service delivery of the Distribution Centre is consistently of an exceptional standard.
• Inventory management (management of stock levels, regular stock counts, monitoring and controlling stock shortages, management of stock with expiry dates, etc.).
• Supervision of and motivation of staff, promotion of a collaborative and positive working environment, and development of staff skills.
• Ensure that the general cleanliness and housekeeping of the Distribution Centre are maintained.
• Supervision of and maintenance of vehicles, equipment, and other assets.
• Ensure that all legal requirements regarding safety and security are in place and complied with.
• The identification of new processes/ methods of operation and their implementation in collaboration with the Distribution Centre Manager to further increase the operational success of the Distribution Centre.

Requirements

• Appropriate qualification/ proof of competency
• At least five years of experience in a distribution or logistics environment
• Good computer skills, the ability to work under pressure, and solve problems quickly
• Strong leadership, good planning, interpersonal, and communication skills
• A Valid Code B (Code 08) driver's license is a requirement
