Fleet /Workshop Foreman
Roles, Responsibilities, Key Responsibilities
· Vehicle Maintenance: Overseeing regular maintenance and repairs to ensure all vehicles are in optimal working condition.
· Fleet Monitoring: Tracking and monitoring the performance of the fleet, including fuel consumption, mileage, and overall vehicle condition.
· Compliance: Ensuring all vehicles comply with local regulations, including safety standards and environmental requirements.
· Budget Management: Managing the budget for fleet maintenance, repairs, and operations, and finding ways to reduce costs.
· Vendor Relations: Establishing and maintaining relationships with service providers, suppliers, and vendors.
· Procurement: Procuring new vehicles as needed, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the best value for the company.
· Reporting: Preparing detailed reports on fleet performance, costs, and compliance for senior management.
· Training: Providing training for drivers and other staff on safe and efficient vehicle operation.
· Emergency Response: Managing emergency situations involving fleet vehicles, such as accidents or breakdowns.
· Licence and renewals – COR & COF
· Monthly Maintenance and cost reports sent to management
· Fuel monitoring and reports monthly
· Manage workshop staff and productivity including parts and materials ordering and management assist with fault diagnosis and repairs
· Plant management
· Monitor tyres and batteries
· Vehicle to site co ordination
· Vehicle allocation as required for site requirements
· Manage Vehicle cleanliness and upkeep and issue fine to drivers
· Monitor private mileage
· Monitor Insurance of vehicles and plant and update accordingly
· Insurance claims and follow up
· Facilities management of the office premise and workshop small works etc
· CCTV monitoring of workshop activities
· General house keeping of the stores and the yard facilities at MGE
· Oversee the stores and upkeep thereof Experience and key Competencies
· Experience: Several years of experience in fleet management, logistics, or a related field is preferred. Experience with large fleets and diverse types of vehicles is beneficial.
· Skills: Strong organizational and leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in fleet management software and tools.
· Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of vehicle maintenance, regulatory compliance, and fleet operations including vehicle tracking and monitoring .Knowledge of budgeting and cost management is essential
· Personal Attributes: Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work under pressure are important attributes for a Fleet Controller
