Description:Hire Resolve's client is currently looking for a Resource Geology and Permitting Manager to join their mining company based in Gauteng.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage permitting processes for geological exploration and resource development activities
- Liaise with government agencies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and obtain necessary approvals
- Oversee the preparation and submission of permit applications, including environmental impact assessments and geological reports
- Support exploration teams with land access negotiations and stakeholder engagement
- Monitor changes in legislation and regulatory frameworks affecting exploration and mining permits
- Develop and maintain permitting schedules aligned with project timelines and milestones
- Collaborate with geologists, environmental specialists, and legal advisors to ensure accurate and compliant submissions
- Maintain records of permits, licenses, and regulatory correspondence for audits and inspections
- Advise management on permitting risks and provide mitigation strategies
- Represent the company in consultations with communities, regulatory bodies, and industry groups related to permitting activities
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- BSc Hons Degree in Geology
- 8 years' experience in a Geology role within a mining operation
- Extensive Leapfrog and SURPAC experience
- Registered with SACNASP
- Knowledge of GIS, survey software and geostatistics
- Willing to travel to multiple locations in South Africa
- Valid Driver's License
