Description:
Hire Resolve’s client is urgently seeking the expertise of a Field Service Mechanic in Johannesburg, GP. The successful candidate will have to have experience in earthmoving and industrial equipment and will be responsible for field-based maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs. Must be able to work independently, manage time well, and complete accurate service reports. Auto-electrical knowledge is a plus.
Responsibilities:- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on earthmoving and industrial equipment.
- Travel to job sites to service equipment in the field.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and (where applicable) auto-electrical faults.
- Complete service reports and maintain accurate records of work performed.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and customers.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment both on-site and in service vehicles.
- Identify parts and materials required for repairs and place necessary requests.
- Offer technical support and advice to customers where necessary.
- Adhere to scheduled service intervals and respond to emergency breakdowns promptly.
- Manage time efficiently to ensure minimal downtime for client machinery.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic (trade tested)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the field
- Hands-on experience with earthmoving and industrial equipment
- Knowledge of auto-electrical systems (advantageous)
- Ability to work independently and solve problems on-site
- Strong time management and paperwork skills
- Punctual and reliable
- Willingness to work overtime when required
- Valid driver’s license (recommended, if applicable)
