Description:
Our client is looking for an RFQ Administrator to join their team in Pietermaritzburg. The company is a well-established provider of abnormal road transport solutions, offering services to the mining, construction, project cargo, and agricultural sectors. They are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to manage the end-to-end Request for Quotation (RFQ) process, ensuring efficient communication and timely responses to client inquiries.
Responsibilities:

Receive, review, and process RFQs from clients
-
Coordinate with internal teams (operations, finance, and marketing) to gather information for accurate quotations
-
Prepare and submit competitive quotations within agreed timelines
-
Act as the primary contact for RFQ-related client communications
-
Provide excellent customer service and follow up on submitted quotes
-
Maintain an up-to-date database of RFQs, quotations, and client interactions
-
Track and report on RFQ success and conversion rates
-
Ensure all quotations comply with company policies, pricing structures, and regulations
-
Verify costs, timelines, and service details for accuracy
-
Collaborate with sales, operations, and finance teams to ensure alignment in service delivery
-
Support logistics in identifying cost-saving opportunities
-
Propose and implement improvements to the RFQ process
-
Stay informed about industry trends, competitor pricing, and market conditions
Requirements:
-
Matric (Grade 12) required
-
Diploma or degree in Logistics, Business Administration, Finance, or related field is advantageous
-
2–3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in logistics or transport
-
Knowledge of abnormal transport operations, permits, and load configurations is advantageous
-
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
-
Strong numerical and analytical abilities
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
-
High attention to detail and accuracy
-
Strong customer service orientation
-
Good problem-solving and time management skills
-
Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
