Description:

Our client is looking for an RFQ Administrator to join their team in Pietermaritzburg. The company is a well-established provider of abnormal road transport solutions, offering services to the mining, construction, project cargo, and agricultural sectors. They are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to manage the end-to-end Request for Quotation (RFQ) process, ensuring efficient communication and timely responses to client inquiries.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive, review, and process RFQs from clients

  • Coordinate with internal teams (operations, finance, and marketing) to gather information for accurate quotations

  • Prepare and submit competitive quotations within agreed timelines

  • Act as the primary contact for RFQ-related client communications

  • Provide excellent customer service and follow up on submitted quotes

  • Maintain an up-to-date database of RFQs, quotations, and client interactions

  • Track and report on RFQ success and conversion rates

  • Ensure all quotations comply with company policies, pricing structures, and regulations

  • Verify costs, timelines, and service details for accuracy

  • Collaborate with sales, operations, and finance teams to ensure alignment in service delivery

  • Support logistics in identifying cost-saving opportunities

  • Propose and implement improvements to the RFQ process

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor pricing, and market conditions

Requirements:

  • Matric (Grade 12) required

  • Diploma or degree in Logistics, Business Administration, Finance, or related field is advantageous

  • 2–3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in logistics or transport

  • Knowledge of abnormal transport operations, permits, and load configurations is advantageous

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong numerical and analytical abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong customer service orientation

  • Good problem-solving and time management skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
