DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB ROLE (TO BE DISCUSSED IN DETAIL AT INTERVIEW STAGE):
- Draft new file letters, including questionnaires and FICA listing
- Prepare and consolidate FICA requirements
- Attend to initial proforma accounts
- Draft Power of Attorney
- Type draft deeds
- Flysheet letters
- Apply for rates clearance figures from the Municipalities
- Upload rates to apply for rates clearance certificate
- Apply for levy clearance certificates including proof of payment & collation of documents to managing agents
- Apply for transfer duty from SARS
- Ensure files are ready for middle prep by conveyancer
- Draft documents and ensure files are ready for appointments
- Arrange appointments for clients
- Apply for BC figures
- Coordinate delivery of original Title Deeds including sending documents to other branches and arrange for collection, scan copies into the folder, cover letters, arrange courier and inter-office logistics, prepare documents for submission into the vault
- Open matters on Lexis as and when is necessary
- Assist clients with Lexis at inception, queries on login, passwords
- Perform Deeds Office searches for agents and ordering Title Deeds via Lexis
- Collect and sign for post, by hand / courier, Docex
- Attend to rates refunds
- Arrange lodgement of documents at the Deeds Office, link, enter into LawDeed and capture fees

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:
• Matric essential
• Proficiency in MS Office (i.e.: MS Word & MS Outlook email)
• Proficiency in AJS and Lexis Convey
• Proficiency in English (i.e.: verbal and written)
• 3-5 years’ proven experience as a Conveyancing Paralegal
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Takes ownership of daily tasks and duties
• Strong administration and organizational skills
• Punctual
• Takes initiative
