Description:
Atlas Fire Security requires a Pipe Fitter for their Mechanical Division
Must be South African, reside within a 20km radius of CPT Airport, must have sober habits, subject to drugs, medical and criminal screening
· To assist the Team, as per the Job Scope, for the setting out, manufacturing and installation of systems as assigned to a Piping Team by the Project Owner, on-site or in the Workshop.
· To be part of a larger team on small, medium and large sites
· To assist with the preparation, installation and maintenance of the piping division.
· To look after and take responsibility, along with their technician(s) all vehicles, tools and equipment assigned to their team
· May be required to be the driver for the team.
· To observe and follow the Company’s Health & Safety Policy
· Use and apply hand tools and electrical power tools such as drills, angle grinders, cut-off saws etc. correctly as per required application
· Use and apply pipe threading machine and set dies for thread cutting correctly as per required application
· Use and apply roll-groove pipes with electrical roll grooving machine and hand roll groove machine correctly as per required application
· Determine and identify different types and schedules of piping correctly
· Determine and identify different types of fittings correctly
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Grade 12 compulsory
· Driver’s Licence compulsory
· Ability to measure accurately
· Ability to read and interpret drawings
· Team Leader ability and be able to work independently
· Must have been employed in the formal job market for a period of at least 2 years.
· Should be very experienced and competent in using hand and power tools very well (drills, grinders, pipe benders, tape measure etc.)
· Knowledge and experience with the installation and repair or sprinklers, hydrants and fire hose reels.
· At least five years in the installation of fire suppression systems required. Must be able to demonstrate intermediate skills and knowledge.
