Our client is looking for a Business Development Manager – Chemicals & Fuel (Warehousing) to join their team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will drive high-value contract wins in the chemical and fuel logistics sector, with a focus on warehousing solutions. You will play a strategic role in securing new business, developing warehousing infrastructure in key regions, and transitioning operations to dedicated teams after contract closure. This is a high-impact role with nationwide scope and significant travel expectations.
Responsibilities:

Close new warehousing deals with high-volume chemical and fuel clients, targeting R100 million in new contract revenue within the first year
-
Manage the complete business development lifecycle from lead generation through to contract finalisation
-
Handover operational execution to regional teams after successful contract closure
-
Support the expansion of warehousing facilities in Cape Town and Durban, replicating existing models by Q4 2025
-
Engage with senior stakeholders and build long-term strategic client relationships
Requirements:

Minimum 10 years’ experience in chemical and/or fuel logistics, specifically with warehousing or storage infrastructure
-
Proven track record in securing large, high-value B2B contracts
-
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to engage and negotiate with executive-level stakeholders
-
Independent, self-driven, and comfortable with a high national travel load

Background in companies offering specialised chemical or fuel warehousing services will be advantageous
