About the Role
We seek an experienced Boilermaker Training Specialist to join our technical education team. In this pivotal role, you will shape the future of boilermaking by delivering expert instruction—both theoretical and practical—to aspiring professionals in this essential trade.
Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Delivery: Teach boilermaking fundamentals, including blueprint reading, welding techniques, metal fabrication, and material science. Deliver practical demonstrations on cutting, shaping, assembling, and welding metal components. Update training materials to reflect current industry standards.

Student Assessment: Design and implement assessments, provide detailed feedback, and track student progress to ensure competency against industry standards.

Safety Leadership: Enforce safety protocols, deliver safety training, conduct audits, and foster a culture of safety awareness.

Industry Engagement: Stay current with industry trends, regulatory updates, and technology. Build relationships with industry partners and align training with market needs.

Mentorship: Support students’ learning journeys, foster an inclusive environment, and serve as a role model for technical excellence and work ethic.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
-
Certified Boilermaker with Red Seal
-
5+ years of practical boilermaking experience
-
ETDP/Facilitator Certificate or equivalent
-
Assessor Certificate (SETA-registered)
-
Strong knowledge of welding, blueprint reading, and safety standards
Preferred:
-
Moderator Certification
-
Experience in technical training or mentorship

Knowledge of QCTO, NQF, SETA-aligned programs, and RPL processes
Skills & Competencies:

Clear communication skills for complex technical concepts

Strong instructional design and classroom management

Problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitude

Computer literacy (MS Office)
Work Environment
Training is based at our technical center/workshop. The role involves standing for long periods, demonstrating physical techniques, and working in noisy, heated industrial environments. Some irregular hours may be required.What We Offer
