Operations Manager (AA/EE)

Description:

A position is available for an Operations Manager with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in port operations on a senior level, as well as cargo & bulk handling experience. Port environment and citrus export knowledge essential. Requirements:

1. Grade 12
2. Relevant tertiary qualification
3. Stevedoring experience (breakbulk and citrus) is a pre-requisite
4. Citrus export knowledge essential
5. Experience and knowledge of port operations and budgeting at senior management level
6. Warehousing, transport, and depot management experience
7. Bulk handling advantageous
8. Experience of perishables (citrus handling) and general cargo protocols
9. Experience with contract management of operational service, and labour
10. 9 years + senior management experience

Responsibilities:

• Create, implement, and manage operational strategy
• Manage general cargo, bulk, container stack, transport services, internal and external warehousing facilities, planning and operations
• Managing labour and service providers cost budgets, and compiling annual and five-year budgets for all operational services
• Manage multiple warehouse operations
• Manage of warehouse, quayside (bulk and breakbulk and citrus), container operations
• Managing vessel planning activities and planning of operations of general cargo and citrus shipments
• Negotiate and contracts and activities of Service Providers
• Staff development
