Description:
An established multi-entity business is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to manage and oversee the full payroll function for approximately 500 employees across thirteen companies. This role requires strong knowledge of SAGE 300, excellent Excel skills, and a solid understanding of South African payroll legislation and compliance. Requirements:- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, or related field ( non-negotiable )
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in payroll management
- Minimum 3 years’ hands-on experience with SAGE 300 ( non-negotiable )
- Experience managing payroll for at least 500 employees
- Must reside in or near the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town ( non-negotiable )
- Proficiency in Excel formulas ( non-negotiable )

Responsibilities:
- Process monthly payroll changes including new hires, terminations, commissions
- Manage payroll runs for salaried, hourly, and commission-based employees
- Perform reconciliations and generate costing/variance reports in Excel
- Submit statutory payments (PAYE, UIF, Workmen’s Compensation)
- Maintain robust payroll policies, procedures, and controls
- Liaise with SAGE consultants on system-related issues
- Work closely with the Financial Director on bank and general ledger reconciliations
- Resolve payroll queries and escalate when necessary
- Manage payroll-related administration and documentation
- Coordinate with Medical Aid and Group Life service providers
- Assist with audit processes and provide payroll information as needed
