Duties and responsibilities:
· Oversee the daily operations of the International Institute of the Arts (IIA).
· Manage financial administration, including budget development and expense tracking.
· Coordinate project management for artist residency programmes and other initiatives.
· Facilitate collaboration between internal and external stakeholders.
· Lead fundraising efforts and pursue third-stream funding opportunities.
· Maintain accurate records and reporting for administrative processes.
· Implement community engagement strategies to broaden participation.
· Support the Director of the IIA in executing strategic and operational plans.
· Establish quality assurance measures for residency programmes and projects.
· Liaise with the UFS Office of International Affairs to enhance international collaborations.
Inherent requirements:
· A Bachelor’s degree or a B-Tech degree on NQF level 7 in the field of Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Arts Management, or a related field.
· A minimum of two (2) years' relevant experience in administrative support within the arts sector, project management, or higher education administration.
Recommendations:
· Proven experience in financial administration, budget management, and fundraising initiatives.
· Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage projects effectively, particularly in a cultural or educational context.
· Three (3) years’ relevant experience in administrative support within the arts or cultural sectors, including project management and event coordination.
· An Honours degree at NQF level eight (8) in the field of Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Arts Management, or a related field.
· Experience in fundraising and developing partnerships with external stakeholders in the arts community.
· Demonstrated knowledge of financial administration, including budget development and monitoring, in a higher education or cultural organisation.
· Familiarity with governance and policy frameworks relevant to the arts and higher education sectors, ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
· Familiarity with community engagement practices and strategies within the arts and cultural sectors.

- arts projects.
- Understanding of collaborative practices across disciplines to effectively integrate diverse methodologies and perspectives in arts initiatives.
· Leading:
- The ability to maintain high levels of personal motivation, energy and enthusiasm.
- The ability to be cooperative with others, display a good-natured attitude and encourage people to work together.
· Building Coalitions:
- The ability to be sensitive and understanding to the needs and feelings of others.
- The ability to interact with others and establish personal connections with people.

Salary:
The annual remuneration package, including benefits is R 388 426.59 – R 487 479.38 per annum , depending on the budget available for the position, relevant work experience and qualifications.
