My client, a well-established logistics and distribution operation with a facility in Epping, Cape Town, is looking for a sharp, detail-focused Debriefing Clerk to join their warehouse team.- The ideal person is meticulous, process-driven, and not afraid to get their hands a little warehouse-dusty. You’ll be the gatekeeper of accuracy - ensuring claims, returns, and discrepancies are properly recorded, and nothing slips through the cracks. If it’s not on paper, it didn’t happen.
- Matric (Grade 12)
- 3 - 4 years’ warehouse experience, particularly in stock reconciliation and debriefing
- Strong working knowledge of warehouse systems and procedures
- Comfortable with handling various stock types including claims, returns, scrap, and charged stock
- Solid understanding of OHSA (Occupational Health and Safety Act)
- SAP system knowledge advantageous
- Accurately offload and verify all returned vehicles against delivery documentation (PODs)
- Ensure proper documentation of returns, claims, rotations, and scrap
- Investigate and report discrepancies
- Liaise with drivers, crew, and security during vehicle offloading
- Maintain records and reconcile with SAP system
- Ensure scrap, claims, and rotation stock are managed and stored correctly
- Oversee regular cycle counts and ensure compliance with FIFO
- Conduct checks on “check & charge” stock within agreed timelines
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant workspace
- Support health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times
- Provide internal support across departments, ensuring issues are escalated and resolved
- Support company values and uphold customer service standards through operational accuracy
- Address all reasonable work instructions to support the business
- Supervise relevant team members where applicable (crew, pickers, cleaners)
- Minimize human error, overtime, and wastage through effective task coordination
- Provide support to leadership for disciplinary processes or non-conformance
- Foster team engagement, safety, and process improvement
- High attention to detail - mistakes aren’t just costly, they’re unacceptable
- Strong administrative and numeracy skills (you can’t fudge numbers here)
- Good communicator - confident liaising with drivers, crew, and managers
- Proactive, reliable, and organized under pressure
- Respectful toward colleagues, equipment, and processes
- Adaptable and open to feedback
