Step into a role that makes an impact! We’re seeking a Maintenance Planner to drive success at NBL Westmead Biscuits in Westmead, Durban . This role is designed to serve as the hub from which all maintenance activities are planned, coordinated and executed. It is the custodian for the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and all Work Planning and Control processes.
Reporting Structure:
- Reports to: Senior Maintenance Planner
Key Areas of Impact:
- Maintenance Planning: Schedule and optimize maintenance tasks, resources, and shutdowns. Ensure realistic plans in collaboration with Engineering and Production teams.
- CMMS Leadership: Manage and enhance CMMS (asset trees, BOMs, job cards, data integrity). Provide training and system support.
- Reporting and Analysis: Generate detailed reports (job card compliance, breakdowns, resource utilization, cost tracking) to guide maintenance performance.
- Budget Management: Estimate, track, and analyze maintenance costs vs. budget. Identify and address high-risk spend areas.
- Preventative Strategies: Review and improve preventative/predictive maintenance plans, based on Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) guidelines and failure analysis.
- Spares and Stores Coordination: Ensure availability of critical spares; support inventory optimization and satellite store control.
- Project Oversight: Lead maintenance shutdowns and contribute to Capex, Repairs and Maintenance projects.
- Team Supervision: Develop and guide the Assistant Planner and ensure data accuracy by supervising CMMS data capture.
What It Takes to Succeed:
Experience that set you up for success:
- At least 5 years' experience in maintenance planning, preferably gained within the FMCG or Manufacturing environment
- Experience in a high speed packaging environment advantageous
Qualifications and Certifications that will contribute to your success:
- N6/T3/S4 Diploma or equivalent in an Engineering field
- In possession of a recognized trade test as a Fitter or Millwright will be an advantage.
Additional Requirements that will enhance your impact for success:
- Must be able to work overtime on an ad-hoc basis
