Description:
PURPOSE
To lead and manage the finance function for Africa by overseeing accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, audits, compliance, cash flow, and internal controls. The Finance Manager ensures financial accuracy, statutory compliance, and acts as a strategic business partner, providing insights, stewardship, and support to drive sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and margin improvement in alignment with the company strategic objectives.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or related discipline (minimum requirement).
Professional certifications such as SAICA CA(SA), CIMA, or equivalent are highly advantageous.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 810 years of experience in financial management or accounting roles, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
Proven experience in financial reporting, audit management, tax compliance (SARS/NAMRA), and IFRS.
Solid understanding of local laws (South African Companies Act, VAT Act, Namibia Income Tax Act).
Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Sage, SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
Previous experience leading teams and interacting with executive-level stakeholders.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to work extended hours during financial close, audits, and strategic planning cycles.
Occasional international and local travel to company sites and external stakeholders (banks, auditors, SARS).

RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee all aspects of financial accounting, including general ledger (GL), accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), fixed assets, month-end and year-end close processes, reconciliations, and payroll accounting.
Prepare and submit timely, accurate, and IFRS-compliant financial statements and reports aligned with corporate requirements.
Ensure accurate and complete statutory submissions, including VAT, PAYE, income tax, and other local tax returns as required by SARS or NAMRA.
