Description:
The Clinical Engineering Technician is responsible for the maintenance and management of medical equipment in Hospitals as per manufacturer specifications and Healthcare regulations. Ensure the continuity of operations in accordance with the applicable Clinix Health Group standards and other related legal requirements and best practice.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:- NQF level 6 National Diploma in Electrical Engineering Clinical or Electronics
- Minimum of 3 Years experience in management and maintenance of medical equipment in a hospital environment.
- Member of the Clinical Engineering Association of South Africa (CEASA)
- Driver’s license
- Proficient in Troubleshooting and repairing electronic medical equipment
- Attend to daily job cards obtained from internal stakeholders
- Provide proper diagnostic on issues and able to perform fault finding and troubleshooting on medical equipment
- Conduct and update asset register on a regular basis and conduct asset verification twice annually.
- Responsible for planning, arranging and execution of scheduled medical equipment services according to manufactures specifications and legal requirements as well as it is determined on the year planner.
- Provide on-call services to the hospital after working hours to ensure equipment issues are remediated as issues arise.
- Provide guidance and motivation during the purchase of new clinical equipment
- Keep accurate records of service and maintenance job cards on all clinical equipment
- Implement, monitor and control technical and maintenance processes according to quality standards, policy, and compliance and governance requirements
- Balance interests of a variety of stakeholders, readjusting priorities to respond to pressing and changing demands
- Comply with cost controls in order to achieve clinical engineering budget
- Collate and submit invoices for the month to line manager
- Prepare weekly/monthly corrective maintenance and preventative maintenance job cards
- Prepare weekly/monthly expenditure report.
