Minimum requirements:
CONTRACT ROLE

We are seeking a qualified and experienced engineer to support the creation and compilation of critical documents for the Underground Collision Avoidance System (UCAS) handover and acceptance testing. The selected individual will play a key role in ensuring compliance with safety-critical standards and regulatory requirements, as well as in delivering accurate and complete documentation for the final handover to both the government regulator and the customer.

Skills and Qualifications:
Educational Background:
A degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Systems) or a related field. Advanced qualifications or certifications in safety-critical systems are a plus.
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience working with safety-critical systems, preferably within the transportation, automotive, or industrial automation sectors.

Proven experience in creating documentation for system handover, testing, and compliance verification.
Experience in compliance with safety-critical standards (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or equivalent).
Previous experience with regulatory requirements and successful handover processes to government bodies or regulatory authorities is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of the Underground Collision Avoidance System (or similar safety-critical systems) and the technologies associated with such systems.
Ability to understand and interpret complex technical specifications and requirements.
Proficiency in documentation tools such as Microsoft Office, SharePoint, or document management systems (DMS).

Additional Requirements:
- This is Hybrid position but may require the person to be able to be on site in Kempton Park and on Occasion at the Customer site in Westonaria .
- Knowledge of specific government regulations related to underground systems and safety protocols is a plus.

Deliverables:
- Complete and compliant handover documentation package..
- Master Record Index for all documentation.
- Verification and compliance statements in line with safety-critical standards.
