REQUIREMENTSMatric, or similar qualification Minimum 7 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ERP systems. Must be fluent in English (excellent verbal and written communication skills). Experience in a tiling, construction or similar industry preferred Pay attention to detail and be 100% committed. Have strong negotiation skills. Have a dynamic personality with a spirit of initiative. Ensure a high degree of loyalty and confidentiality. Portray good time management, discipline and organisation skills. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Be able to work independently and as part of a team. Have problem-solving and analytical skills.
DUTIES
Source and evaluate potential suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, delivery, and pricing requirements. Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers to secure the best deals for the company. Process purchase orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. Track orders from placement to receipt, resolving any discrepancies or issues that may arise. Maintain accurate records of all purchasing activities, including purchase orders, invoices, and supplier performance data. Prepare and maintain supplier files, including contracts, certifications, and performance evaluations. Assist in the development and implementation of purchasing policies and procedures. Collaborate with other departments, such as inventory control and accounting, to ensure smooth operations. Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in procurement. Perform other duties as assigned.
