Description:
Learning and Development Manager is a leadership role within the Learning and Development function, focused specifically on enhancing the skills and capabilities of current and future managers within an organization. This position plays a strategic role in building effective leadership pipelines and aligning management training initiatives with business goals.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning
- Develop and implement management and leadership development strategies that align with organizational goals.
- Identify current and future leadership competency needs.
- Implement and management development programs to build internal leadership capacity.
- Design, curate, or source leadership development programs (e.g., first-time manager training, executive coaching, high-potential programs).
- Oversee delivery through internal facilitators or external vendors.
- Conduct assessments to identify skill gaps among current managers and leadership candidates.
- Measure the effectiveness of training initiatives using KPIs, feedback, and performance data.
- Continuously improve programs based on outcomes and feedback.
- Partner with HR and senior leadership to develop talent pipelines for key leadership roles.
- Collaborate with department heads, executives, and external consultants.
- Advocate for leadership development initiatives at the executive level.
- Launch or manage mentorship and coaching initiatives for leadership development.

- Strong background in leadership development and instructional design
- Deep understanding of adult learning principles and business strategy
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
- Experience managing large-scale programs and budgets
- Proficiency with learning platforms and development tools (LMS, coaching platforms, etc.)
- Strategic thinking and change management skills
🔹 Typical Background
- Education : Bachelor's or Master's in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, or a related field
- Experience : 5–10+ years in L&D, with a focus on leadership development
- Certifications (optional but valuable):
- Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD)
- SHRM-SCP
- Coaching certifications (e.g., ICF)
