Description:
As the GM of Maintenance and Projects, you will spearhead engineering maintenance, project execution, and technical governance within a high-risk processing environment. You will lead a multidisciplinary team managing fixed plant maintenance, shutdown execution, and CAPEX projects, ensuring asset reliability, compliance, and cost efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Essential) Government Certificate of Competency (Factories or Mines & Works) (Essential) Project Management Certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) MBA, MBL, or Postgraduate Qualification in Engineering/Operations Management (Advantageous)Experience:
15+ years in chemical, metallurgical, or heavy industrial plants (sulphuric acid, phosphoric acid, smelters, refineries, etc.) 8+ years in senior leadership within maintenance or engineering Proven success in CAPEX projects > R50 million in a processing plant context Demonstrated expertise in plant reliability, statutory inspections, and shutdown execution Strong experience engaging with regulators, unions, and OEMs in high-risk environmentsKey Responsibilities
