Our client, L’Amitie Estate, a premium Villa accommodation in Franschhoek , is seeking a hands-on, organized, and proactive Estate Manager to oversee the smooth running of a beautiful estate in Franschhoek. You will be responsible for managing the property, staff, gardens, guest services, bookings and all daily operations to ensure a high standard of maintenance, productivity, and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities: *Estate & Property Management: Maintain roads, water systems, electricity, fencing, firebreaks, dams, access control, common areas (pool, walkways), waste management, wifi, and TV; Keep all estate assets in good condition and ensure proper use; Manage vehicle maintenance and operator training; Oversee the health of gardens, orchards, and control invasive plants; Keep the estate tidy and visually appealing; Manage permanent and temporary staff, plus contractors; Provide additional services like cleaning, repairs, laundry, and security monitoring if needed; Collaborate with neighboring farms on security, fire safety, and community matters; Report weekly and monthly to the Director on estate activities, projects, finances, and guest stays; Monitor production activities and ensure goals are met; Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are met. *Guest House & Administration: Welcome guests and handle their requests; Manage bookings, payments, and guest services; Organize accommodation, catering, and events; Market the estate and manage online presence (website and social media); Manage budgets, financial records, sales targets, and reporting; Recruit, train, and schedule staff; Handle guest feedback and resolve issues; Oversee maintenance, supplies, renovations, and security; Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations; Manage inventory and general admin duties.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
• Experience in estate, farm, or hospitality management;
• Strong leadership and organisational skills;
• Knowledge of agricultural or garden management is a plus;
• Financial and administrative experience;
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Accommodation on the estate is provided as part of the package.
