Description:
Our client is looking for a Quality Manager to join their team in Alberton . The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing, implementing, and managing quality control processes within a stainless steel manufacturing facility. This role is essential in driving product and process quality, ensuring compliance with industry standards, leading the implementation of ISO certifications, and maintaining digital Health & Safety systems.
Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures across the manufacturing process

Inspect and audit fabrication processes for compliance with specifications, standards, and client requirements
-
Investigate quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
-
Train and mentor staff on quality procedures and standards
-
Maintain quality documentation, including inspection records, quality plans, and traceability reports
-
Lead ISO 9001 and other relevant standard implementations (e.g. ISO 3834)
-
Develop and manage the Quality Management System (QMS)
-
Drive internal audits, non-conformance reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives
-
Liaise with external auditors and certification bodies during audit processes
-
Oversee and maintain a digital Health & Safety system
-
Conduct regular Health & Safety inspections and ensure OHS compliance
-
Support incident investigations and maintain accurate H&S records
-
Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement
Requirements:

National Diploma or Degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field
-
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in quality control/management in a manufacturing environment (preferably stainless steel or metal fabrication)

Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 implementation and auditing practices
-
Solid understanding of welding and fabrication processes

Familiarity with the properties of stainless steel

Knowledge of South African Occupational Health & Safety regulations and digital H&S systems
