Description:
Our client is seeking to appoint a Stock Controller join their warehouse team. This person will be responsible for maintaining the stock inventories to meet business requirements. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured, fast-paced environment and understands the critical role that accurate inventory management plays in business success. This position is based in Pomona, Kempton Park.
Requirements:
- Managing inventory
- Ensuring accurate records and optimising stock levels to meet customer demand while minimizing costs
- Maintaining precise stock records
- Ensuring proper storage of items
- Maintaining accurate inventory records: This includes stock movements
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate stock records, tracking all movements and discrepancies
- Ensure received items are undamaged, properly labeled, and aligned with order requirements
- Record stock updates and transactions using inventory management systems
- Collaborate with warehouse teams to ensure proper storage and handling of goods
- Conduct routine stock counts
- Process returns to suppliers efficiently and in accordance with company procedures
- Identify and document damaged goods or discrepancies, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution
- Matric (Grade 12) is essential
- 2–4 years of experience in stock control and/or receiving, ideally within a warehouse or distribution setting
- Solid understanding of inventory control principles and procedures
- Proficient in inventory and warehouse systems such as Pastel, SAP, Syspro, or similar
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and data entry
- High level of accuracy, organizational ability, and attention to detail
- Capable of working independently under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork
