Our client in the liquor industry is looking for a Customer Marketing Manager – Spirits , based in Midrand, Gauteng , to develop and execute customer-focused marketing campaigns that drive sales growth of premium brands. The role involves aligning marketing strategies with sales objectives, collaborating with internal teams and external partners, managing budgets, and leading a team to ensure successful campaign delivery and exceptional shopper experiences.
Key Responsibilities includes:
- Align customer marketing plans with brand objectives to ensure seamless execution across channels.
- Develop and implement campaigns tailored to target segments, outlets, and activations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to create tools and materials supporting brand and sales strategies.
- Lead the execution of customer campaigns, promotions, and events across on-trade and off-trade channels.
- Ensure timely delivery of POSM and adherence to regulatory standards while tracking and responding to competitor activities.
- Monitor KPIs, conduct post-campaign evaluations, and refine execution processes to enhance outcomes.
- Collaboration with Smollan and execution partners to drive in field execution.
- Work with sales teams, key accounts, and channel leads to optimise product placement and meet evolving customer needs.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, and creative agencies to ensure alignment and collaboration.
- Actively contribute to DGB Life Academy guidelines for best practices in execution.
- Report on campaign performance, ROI, and insights to align with business goals.
- Evaluate promo effectiveness to optimize resource use and drive future improvements.
- Manage budgets to ensure strategic alignment and transparent expenditure tracking.
- Lead and motivate teams, setting performance KPIs and ensuring high-quality execution.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
Qualification and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years in sales/trade marketing in FMCG, ideally within premium drinks or liquor.
- Strong project management skills
- Proficiency in data tools (e.g., SAP, Nielsen, QlikSense)
