Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-driven Director of Housekeeping to oversee and inspire our housekeeping department. This key leadership role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and overall presentation throughout the hotel. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining our reputation for excellence and ensuring a consistently exceptional guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
· Oversee daily operations of the housekeeping department, including guest rooms, public areas, laundry, and back-of-house spaces.
· Lead, train, and motivate a team of housekeeping supervisors, room attendants, and cleaning staff.
· Develop and implement housekeeping policies, procedures, and quality standards.
· Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and adherence to health and safety standards.
· Manage departmental budgets, inventory, and cost control measures efficiently.
· Coordinate with maintenance, front office, and other departments to address guest requests and resolve issues promptly.
· Maintain records for staffing, scheduling, performance reviews, and incident reports.
· Monitor supply levels and manage vendor relationships for cleaning products and linen services.
· Uphold sustainability and environmental practices within the housekeeping operation.
· Ensure compliance with hotel standards and government regulations.
Requirements:
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior housekeeping role within a hotel or hospitality environment.
· Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
· In-depth knowledge of housekeeping procedures and equipment.
· Ability to manage and motivate a large team in a fast-paced setting.
· High attention to detail and a passion for exceptional service.
· Proficient in housekeeping management systems and MS Office.
· Relevant hospitality qualification or diploma (preferred).
