Position definition : A Materials Resource Planner (also known as an MRP Planner or Materials Planner) is a supply chain and production professional responsible for ensuring that the right materials are available at the right time and in the right quantities to support manufacturing operations and meet customer demand.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement Coordination
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain and manage the MRP system to ensure accurate material requirements.
- Analyse production schedules and forecast material needs.
- Create, release, and monitor purchase and work orders.
- Coordinate with suppliers for delivery schedules, lead times, and order statuses.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure stock accuracy.
- Review and update Bills of Materials (BOM) and item master data.
- Identify material shortages, delays, or risks and escalate or resolve them promptly.
- Collaborate with production, procurement, and logistics to align material flow with production demands.
