REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor of Education (Intermediate Senior Phase)
- 1–2 years in a formal teaching environment
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English (Afrikaans teaching fluency essential)
- MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Proficient in the use of internet browsers and the Class Dojo application
DUTIES
- Set age-appropriate, subject-related goals and expectations for learners.
- Deliver dynamic and engaging Afrikaans lessons aligned with the CAPS curriculum.
- Provide regular feedback and academic support to learners.
- Manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
- Participate in intervention strategies and learner development plans.
- Maintain a safe, inviting and organised classroom.
- Promote learner responsibility and pride in their work.
- Foster mutual respect and a culture of curiosity.
- Develop and submit weekly planning via Microsoft Teams.
- Maintain accurate records: attendance, assessments, and parent communications.
- Take responsibility for classroom resources and equipment.
- Actively engage in personal and professional growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school committees and activities.
- Uphold school values and act as a role model.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with parents and guardians.
- Participate in and help organise school events and parent-teacher meetings.
- Engage with the school community and extracurricular initiatives.
