REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor of Education (Intermediate Senior Phase)
• 1–2 years in a formal teaching environment
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English (Afrikaans teaching fluency essential)
• MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Proficient in the use of internet browsers and the Class Dojo application

DUTIES

• Set age-appropriate, subject-related goals and expectations for learners.
• Deliver dynamic and engaging Afrikaans lessons aligned with the CAPS curriculum.
• Provide regular feedback and academic support to learners.
• Manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
• Participate in intervention strategies and learner development plans.
• Maintain a safe, inviting and organised classroom.
• Promote learner responsibility and pride in their work.
• Foster mutual respect and a culture of curiosity.
• Develop and submit weekly planning via Microsoft Teams.
• Maintain accurate records: attendance, assessments, and parent communications.
• Take responsibility for classroom resources and equipment.
• Actively engage in personal and professional growth.
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school committees and activities.
• Uphold school values and act as a role model.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with parents and guardians.
• Participate in and help organise school events and parent-teacher meetings.
• Engage with the school community and extracurricular initiatives.
