My client, a specialist Short Term Insurance brokerage is looking for an experienced and confident Senior Short-Term Insurance Administrator with Underwriter experience, to join their team in Table View, Cape Town.- The ideal person is someone who knows short term insurance inside out and can independently manage a portfolio across personal and commercial lines with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and manage short term insurance policies (personal, commercial, and corporate lines)
- Handle full policy lifecycle: new business, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, and amendments
- Perform risk assessments and underwriting on new and existing business
- Manage end-to-end claims processes with minimal supervision
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal governance standards
- Provide high-level client service, including technical advice and policy clarification
- Liaise with underwriters, insurers, and clients to ensure accurate cover and risk management
- Maintain accurate policy records and documentation on internal systems
- Support brokers with complex queries and escalate risks where appropriate
- Matric
- RE5 certification (non-negotiable)
- NQF Level 4 or 5 in Short Term Insurance
- Class of Business (COB) certification in both Commercial and Personal Lines
- Minimum 5 years of experience specifically in Short Term Insurance, with a strong focus on underwriting
- Proven ability to assess risk and apply underwriting criteria to personal and commercial portfolios
- In-depth knowledge of insurance regulations, policy structures, and claims processes
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer literate – experience with multiple insurance systems is advantageous
