Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accurate financial data Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets, and forecasts Complete and submit VAT, PAYE, and other statutory returns in compliance with SARS Process and review journal entries, accruals, and prepayments Manage accounts payable and receivable functions Oversee fixed asset register and depreciation schedules Assist with cash flow management and treasury functions Coordinate year-end audits and liaise with external auditors Maintain compliance with all relevant accounting standards (IFRS/GRAP) Provide financial analysis and support strategic decision-making Implement and monitor internal financial controls and systems Supervise or mentor junior accounting staff (if applicable) Minimum Requirements: Education & Qualifications:
BCom Degree in Accounting or Financial Management (essential) Registered with a professional body (e.g., SAIPA, SAICA AGA(SA), or CIMA) Experience:35 years of relevant accounting experience Proven experience preparing full sets of accounts Experience with financial systems (e.g., Pastel, Sage, Xero, or SAP) Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax, and regulatory frameworks Advanced Excel and financial reporting skills Competence in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Behavioral Competencies:
High attention to detail and strong analytical ability Ethical, reliable, and committed to confidentiality Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and manage deadlines Problem-solving mindset with strong business acumen
