Description:
- Machine Operation
- Carries out operating activities according to the Standard Operating Procedures / Instructions.
- Monitors the processing of the BIB(Bag in Box) Filling operation to ensure the smooth flow of production and quality by carrying out physical checks at regular intervals
- Carries out sanitation instructions to ensure effective sanitation of BIB filling line and surrounding areas.
- Ensures the machine is running at the correct specifications and standards by regularly checking the calibration and settings of the machine.
- BIB Filling Processes
- Checks the correct raw materials are used for each production run to ensure the product specifications for a specified product meet the requirements of the product specifications.
- Loads the BIB Filling machine with the correct filling materials ensuring the correct operating procedures are followed.
- Checks and verifies that the relevant product documentation (QC Production Record Pack) is completed accurately and timeously according to quality control requirements.
- Attends promptly to processing problems to ensure minimal quality and production efficiency losses.
- Quality Management System
- Checks and verifies product specifications to prevent incorrect products being produced causing waste, re-runs and negatively affecting efficiency targets
- Checks and verifies that all quality control procedures are followed and that all required documentation is completed correctly with every production run
- Adheres to QMS standards and procedures
- Health, Safety and Housekeeping
- Checks CCPs including, Chemical Residue, Sanitation Testing of Buffer Tanks
- Ensures compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures, reporting any unsafe safety act immediately.
- Ensures HACCP principles are adhered to and participates in annual HACCP training

- Previous Experience: 5 years’ experience in BIB production or manufacturing environment, ideally in a food or beverage-related industry.
- Familiarity with BIB operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining filling machines.
- BIB Filling and Packaging production process knowledge
- Ability to fully understand and carry out Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Operating Machine Instructions
- Must have previous experience working with a Human Machine Interface (HMI)
- Ability to identify machine instability or potential breakdowns
- Ability to make basic machine adjustments using specialised tools when changing machine specifications at product change overs.
- Knowledge of the Pre-requisite Program – ISOPH01
- Knowledge of HACCP systems, Plan for glass and Bib filling - ISOPH02
- Knowledge of CCPs incl. Chemical Residue, Sanitation Testing of Buffer Tanks
- Grade 12
