With branches across South Africa and Botswana, the company continues to grow and is seeking a dynamic Business Unit Manager / Branch Manager to lead its Steelpoort branch.Position Summary:The Business Unit Manager will play a key leadership role, responsible for driving branch performance across operational, financial, and customer service metrics. This role requires a strong technical background in diesel engines and mining-related machinery, along with proven managerial and business development capabilities. Key Responsibilities:- Drive revenue growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction within the branch
- Lead and manage daily operations to meet production and service delivery targets
- Identify training and development needs, ensuring team members are empowered to perform at their best
- Oversee and manage all projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget
- Optimise resource utilisation, including manpower, equipment, and materials
- Lead business development efforts: identify new opportunities, track competitor activity, and strengthen relationships with current clients
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards, company policies, and operational procedures
- Engage directly with suppliers and customers to resolve challenges and enhance service delivery
- Foster a motivated and results-driven work environment, promoting continuous improvement
- Monitor financial performance and ensure operational targets are met
- N2 qualification with trade-related subjects or minimum 5 years as a qualified Artisan
- Recognised Trade Test Certificate in Diesel Mechanics or related field
- Minimum 5 years of management experience, ideally in a technical/engineering environment
- Strong understanding of mining equipment and motor engineering operations
- Excellent communication skills in English and Afrikaans
- Proficient in MS Office and other relevant software (e.g., AutoPlan); adaptable to new technologies
- Broad technical knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and mechanical processes
- Ability to lead and develop teams effectively
- Must reside in the Steelpoort area or be willing to relocate
- Proven track record in sales and client engagement
