Graduate Accountant

Have you recently completed your Accounting studies, and are interested in a 12-month contract position to earn valuable experience? Our client based in Cape Town CBD requires your strong numeracy skills with a willingness to learn and assist across three departments managing finances. Strong Excel skills are required. REQUIREMENTS

• Professional Financial / Cost Accounting qualification
• 3 - 5 Years Financial / Cost accounting experience
• Knowledge and experience of IFRS, SAP (or similar ERP systems)
• Highly skilled – Excel, Power Point, Word and other planning tools advantageous
• Experience working in a high paced Project environment would be advantageous
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail & deadline driven
• Ability to work flexibly, independently and in a team
• Adaptability and ability to work under pressure
• Intermediate knowledge of Excel & Power Point,
• Have experience workingon any Accounting Software (Pastel, Sage, etc.)

DUTIES

• Alignment of SAP vs. Cost management system
• Updating comparison reports for weekly engineering cost meetings
• Providing Engineers with Weekly Cost updates
• Attending and minuting weekly engineering cost meetings
• Updating of vendor data sheets
• Follow up on outstanding invoices, capturing of data for cash flow purposes
• Tracking and reporting on project and contract cash flow vs. forecast
• Updating and tracking of Potential Deviation Notice’s, Capital Funds Request’s, and their respective registers
• Updating of project transfer register
• Cost verification and tracking of project funds transfers
• Updating eB system with relevant documentation (PDN’s, CFR’s, PDN and CFR Registers, Transfer’s and transfer registers)
• Mathematical check of Interim and Final accounts
• Tracking of Interim and Final Accounts
• Scrutinize costs recorded for accuracy and identify re-allocations of costs
• Monthly journals, allocations & accruals
