A leading company in the motor engineering and heavy vehicle industry is seeking a skilled Engine Assembler to join their team in Pretoria West. The primary responsibility of this role is the assembly of heavy-duty diesel engines, primarily for the mining and industrial sectors. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong technical expertise and the ability to work collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment Key Responsibilities:- Assemble heavy-duty diesel engines to precise specifications for mining and related industries
- Collaborate effectively in a team while maintaining individual accountability and meeting set deadlines
- Ensure high-quality workmanship and assist with troubleshooting and post-assembly adjustments in the dyno room as needed
- Conduct thorough inspections of all engine components prior to assembly to verify accuracy and quality
- Liaise with project coordinators and technicians to define the scope of work and prepare detailed reports for quotations
- Identify required parts and initiate procurement requests
- Provide field service support when needed, focusing on engine-specific faults
- N2 Certificate with trade-related subjects or a minimum of 5 years as a qualified Artisan
- Recognised Trade Test Certificate in Diesel Mechanics, Automotive Machining, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience in diesel engine assembly
- Proven experience with engines such as Deutz, Cummins, John Deere, Perkins, and CAT
- Proficient in both Afrikaans and English (written and verbal)
- Must reside in the Pretoria area or be willing to relocate
- Willing to work overtime as operational demands require
