Hire Resolve's client is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer or Structural Technologist to join a dynamic team within the construction industry. The successful candidate will play a key role in the planning, design, and implementation of structural projects, with a strong emphasis on commercial developments. This position combines office-based design work with on-site responsibilities, offering an exciting opportunity to apply technical expertise and project management skills in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:

Assist in the development of structural designs for buildings and infrastructure projects.

Use design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or Tekla to produce and revise technical drawings.

Conduct basic structural calculations under supervision to analyse loads, materials, and stability.

Support the detailing and engineering of façade systems, ensuring design intent is preserved when applicable.

Prepare reports, specifications, and technical documentation in line with project and regulatory requirements.

Attend site visits and inspections, supporting senior engineers in evaluating construction progress and quality.

Collaborate effectively with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to address engineering challenges.

Provide project assistance across all stages, from concept design to final construction and handover.

Participate actively in training and development opportunities to enhance engineering knowledge and skills.

Integrate sustainable and innovative design principles into engineering solutions where possible.

Support health and safety compliance across all phases of engineering and construction.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or nearing completion).

Strong interest or experience in structural design and analysis.
-
Familiarity with design and drafting software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar.

Exposure to or interest in façade engineering or architectural detailing is advantageous.

Understanding of basic engineering principles and South African building codes.
-
Willingness to work in a remote/rural location (Sutherland, Northern Cape).

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Attention to detail and a willingness to learn.

Ability to assist on-site and participate in inspections or construction support.

Eagerness to grow professionally under the mentorship of senior engineers.
