Cost Accountant

Description:

Seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to manage and analyse costs within the fruit export sector. Responsibilities include cost allocation, financial reporting, identifying inefficiencies, and collaborating with other departments. Strong Excel skills and supply chain understanding are essential. Minimum Requirements:

1. Grade 12
2. BCom Finance / Supply Chain Management OR relevant experience from the fruit industry
3. At least 3 years Cost Accounting experience
4. Knowledge & understanding of systems, operations, pricing strategy etc.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage service provider contracts and rates.
• Create customer quotes.
• Update seasonal costs for clients by early April.
• Develop and maintain service pricing guidelines (with Cost Account Manager).
• Respond to customer queries.
• Resolve vendor invoice issues.
• Prepare and input customer invoice costs.
• Analyze cost variances to determine margins.
• Develop and test ERP cost module.

Skills required:

• Expertise in cost allocation.
• Ability to analyse financial data, create reports, and provide cost and profitability insights.
• Advanced Excel proficiency for efficient cost data management.
• Understanding of the fruit export supply chain (procurement to distribution).
• High level of accuracy in cost calculation and tracking.
• Strong analytical skills for identifying cost inefficiencies and proposing solutions
