Description:
The Commis Chef’s responsibilities include preparing ingredients, assisting with menu preparation, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
The ideal candidate for this role is passionate about food, eager to learn, and able to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare ingredients for the meal service, including washing, peeling, cutting, and chopping.
- Follow the guidance of the senior chef in preparing dishes.
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines.
- Perform basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces and parboiling food.
- Prepare simple dishes such as salads and entrees.
- Assist with inventory management and kitchen equipment maintenance.
- Help with the cleaning and organization of the kitchen and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling knives and kitchen equipment safely.
Job type: Full-Time.
Job salary: R4000-R5000 per month.
