Description:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-focused Store Person to join our team. This role involves picking and packing customer orders, stock counts, supporting general stores activities like receiving and dispatching, and handling the tool store. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, organized, and able to follow established procedures to ensure stock accuracy and smooth warehouse operations.
Order Picking & Packing:
· Pick items accurately from stock to fulfill customer orders.
· Pack goods securely and correctly following company packaging guidelines.
· Prepare dispatch paperwork and labels to ensure correct shipment details.
· Work with couriers and drivers to arrange collections and ensure timely dispatch.
· Keep the packing area tidy, organized, and efficient.
Stock Handling & Inventory Support:
· Assist with stock movements including booking in deliveries, stock relocations, and adjustments.
· Help maintain tidy and well-organized stock storage areas.
· Label and identify stock correctly for easy tracking.
· Support stock replenishment by notifying shortages to the relevant team members.
Stock Counts & Audits:
· Participate in cycle counts and full stocktakes.
· Help investigate and report any discrepancies found during stock counts.
· Follow company processes to ensure stock records remain accurate and up to date.
Goods Inward Support:
· Assist with receiving deliveries by unloading, checking quantities, and inspecting items.
· Ensure incoming goods are correctly recorded and stored in the appropriate locations.
· Report any damaged or incorrect deliveries promptly.
Tool Store Handling:
· Keep the tool store organized and ensure all tools are stored safely.
· Issue and return tools as requested, keeping accurate usage records.
· Monitor tool condition and report any damages or maintenance needs.
· Support the tracking and upkeep of tool inventory.
General Warehouse Duties:
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
· Follow company health & safety procedures in all daily activities.
· Support other stores and warehouse tasks as needed.
· Work as part of a team to meet daily operational targets.
Compliance & Quality:
· Follow company procedures to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
· Assist in maintaining accurate records for traceability of goods.
· Support continuous improvement of stores and warehouse processes .
Requirements:
- Sage Pastel: 1 to 2 years
- Stock Controller: 3 to 4 years
Previous experience as a stores person in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Good understanding of order picking, packing, and dispatch processes.
Experience with stock handling and assisting in stock counts or stocktakes.
Basic computer skills for data entry and using stock systems (e.g., Sage 50 or similar software would be advantageous).
Ability to follow company procedures and ISO standards.
Good attention to detail and accuracy in handling stock and orders.
Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling tasks (lifting, moving stock, standing for long periods).
Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Basic understanding of health & safety in a warehouse/stores environment.
Ability to stay organized in a busy work environment. Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks.
Medically fit for duty without restrictions.
Must have a clear criminal record.
Forklift license (preferred but not essential).
