Our client, a company operating in the fruit industry with their office situated in Paarl , has an exciting opportunity for a Key Accounts Manager to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive, commercially-minded individual with strong industry insight and the ability to work independently, paired with excellent procurement and relationship-building skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for expansion of the client base across various commodity groups and markets, both locally & internationally. KPI’s will include:*Client Base Expansion: Conducting market analysis to identify business opportunities; Developing & executing strategies to drive market share growth. *Relationship Building & Client Engagement: Communication with potential & existing clients; Providing exceptional customer service & manage SLA’s; Implementing strategies for client retention and repeat business. *Market Research: Monitoring industry trends & market conditions and using insights to adapt business development strategies *Sales Presentations: Delivering sales presentations that demonstrate product value; Addressing client needs & offer problem-solving solutions. *Financial, Risk & Administration: Commercial budget management & cost controls, credit notes, write-offs, & claims processes; Handling contract negotiations & stakeholder communication; Identifying & mitigating commercial risk & ensuring compliance with legal & regulatory obligations; Reporting to relevant management. *Product Knowledge: Maintaining understanding of the company's products, commodities, & varieties; Tailor solutions to meet client-specific needs; Using client feedback to improve offerings; Collaborating with marketing & product development teams to adapt strategies *All other tasks related to the role.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
• Tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, or related field;
• Proven experience in a similar role in the fresh produce, agriculture or export industries;
• Excellent computer proficiency;
• Fully bilingual (Afrikaans & English);
• Valid driver's license and own transport;
• Willingness to travel nationally & internationally as required.
