Our client is seeking a dynamic, passionate, and experienced couple to take full responsibility for the daily operations, guest experience, and upkeep of this prestigious full boarding lodge. This position is ideal for a multiskilled couple where one partner ( her ) manages lodge operations, guest services, and administration, and the other ( him ) focuses on game guiding management, staff supervision, maintenance, and property operations.
Responsibilities – HER (Lodge Manager / Guest Services / Admin)
Guest Relations & Front-of-House:
- Warmly welcome and check-in guests with professionalism and enthusiasm.
- Manage reservations, cancellations, and guest communications (phone, email, in-person).
- Coordinate guest activities, bush experiences, and special occasions.
- Ensure consistent 5-star guest satisfaction and handle any complaints diplomatically.
- Meet and host travel agents and VIP guests.
Lodge Operations & Staff Management:
- Supervise front-of-house, housekeeping, and support teams.
- Prepare staff rosters, manage leave schedules, and oversee daily tasks.
- Maintain pristine guest areas and lodge cleanliness.
- Manage stock control, lodge consumables, and inventory.
- Monitor infrastructure conditions and coordinate with maintenance.
Administrative & Financial Duties:
- Oversee financial processes including guest billing, petty cash, and invoicing.
- Ensure booking accuracy (NightsBridge or similar).
- Manage supplier relationships and procurement.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel for operational reporting.
- (Advantageous) Assist in lodge marketing and social media updates.
Responsibilities – HIM (Staff Management / Maintenance / Hosting)
Staff Management & Reporting Structure:
- Manage a team of 10 to 20 lodge and field staff.
- Provide strong leadership, scheduling, and performance oversight.
- The game driver will report directly to this role.
- Enforce discipline, productivity, and service quality standards across the team.
Maintenance & Property Oversight:
- Maintain lodge infrastructure, gardens, and surroundings.
- Conduct regular vehicle checks and coordinate repairs.
- Oversee all general maintenance and ensure operational readiness of equipment.
