Description:
Assist with maintenance and improving of existing and future infrastructure.
Fix and maintain production related machinery
Key responsibilities:
The maintenance of hydraulic presses, the rubber mixing mill and forklift including electrical work and the maintenance of electric elements
The building of jigs and machinery as is required
Recommendations specific to best practices regarding maintenance and machine performance
The caretaking of tools and instruments needed to carry out the duties of maintenance
The building of greater levels of machine reliability within the business as a whole
Maintaining stock levels of critical spares
Key skills:
The ability to work with pressure (such as the type experienced during machine breakdowns etc.)
The ability to work within a team
Welding
General electrician competencies
Extensive knowledge regarding hydraulic presses
Willing and able to follow instructions
Good knowledge of machine tools and components such as radial arm drills, lathes and industrial gearboxes etc.
Knowledge of how to work with Excel, Outlook and competent with a PC in general
Good written and verbal English communication
The ability to think innovatively and solve problems with cost-effective long-lasting solutions.
Able to draw up concise reports for management
Potential initial projects:
The drawing up of a maintenance schedule for each machine in the factory broken down into shift checks and weekly, monthly and yearly checks.
The organising of tool cupboards and the creation of a digital tool registry
The cleaning out of all electrical boxes within the factory
Running through each machine and creating line by line costings specific to what each machine requires for a complete overhaul
The implementation of a "maintenance request" system
Job requirements:
Valid drivers license
Own transport (specifically important given that from time to time you may be called out at night to assist with a breakdown)
A minimum of 3 years relevant experience
Red seal preferred
