Bridge House School, an independent, co-ed day and boarding school situated close to Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Paarl in the Western Cape, is seeking a Junior accountant to join their team.

Duties will include (but not limited to): *Daily reconciliation of the bank statements *Assist with creditors and debtors and have experience with reconciliations *Maintain accurate financial records up to Trial Balance and prepare all month end reconciliations for month end reporting *Monthly Management Accounts are completed by the 10th of each month *Assist with Payroll processing and maintain HR records *Maintain the fixed asset register, calculate monthly depreciation and post relevant journals *Monitor budget performance *Assist with cash flow forecasts, budgets, and submission of SARS returns *Support external audit by providing documentation and explanations of financial transactions *Assist with the implementation of new accounting systems *Stay updated on industry best practices, financial regulations, and software tools *All other tasks related to this position.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
• BCom Accounting degree with completed SAIPA articles;
• 1-2 years' experience in a similar position;
• Excellent knowledge of the IFRS for SME’s Accounting Standard;
• Sound work ethic, with a professional and pleasant demeanour when dealing with staff and stakeholders;
• Strong computer proficiency, specifically Excel, Pastel Accounting, Payroll, Xero Accounting and Simple Pay.
