Our client is looking for a Senior Manager: Procurement (Mechanisation Categories) to join their team in Paarl. The organisation is a JSE-listed group operating nationally across over 100 locations, including retail branches and ecommerce platforms. Focused on agricultural retail and infrastructure, the group provides farming supplies, mechanisation solutions, and general retail products to a diverse customer base. This position falls within the Supply Chain Division and is key to driving category performance in the Agri Infrastructure and Mechanisation space.
Responsibilities:

Develop and implement category strategies for Agri Infrastructure and Mechanisation.

Drive innovation through supplier collaboration and identification of new technologies.
-
Support and monitor category execution to ensure alignment with business goals.
-
Ensure compliance and governance in category management, including contracts and supply agreements.
-
Implement and maintain central pricing management (SPP).
-
Measure supplier performance and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
-
Build and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers.
-
Lead strategic supplier negotiations.
-
Gather and analyse market intelligence to inform category strategies and remain abreast of industry developments.
Requirements:
-
Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
-
8–10 years’ senior management experience in procurement within an agricultural environment.
-
In-depth understanding of the agricultural sector and its dynamics.
-
Familiarity with emerging technologies, particularly AI.
-
Willingness to travel and work extended hours during peak periods.
-
Strong leadership attributes including achievement orientation, pragmatic judgement, self-awareness, and the ability to navigate complexity.
