Description:
- To ensure that IFRS17 is operationalised within the Finance department to facilitate reporting to key stakeholders.
- Working alongside the actuarial and finance team to reconcile the data from the source systems to the GL and Risk Integrity.
- Explain the IFRS17 results to key stakeholders.
- Be involved in the tax computation under IFRS 17.
- Ensure that the disclosure in the AFS, and the appropriate regulatory returns are correct and timeously reported upon.
- Be involved in the training of IFRS 17 to impacted finance staff such that they understand what is required of them.
- Own the IFRS 17 budgeting and forecasting process, working with the actuarial department.
- Cashflow statement and notes including notes and proofs requested by the Audit Committee and External auditors.
- Oversee the preparation of the management reporting for relevant items in this document.
- Actively ensuring that all finance policies, applicable laws and regulations are complied with, and in line with the internal financial control requirements. Skills & Experience:
Minimum 3 years post-articles experience, with at least 2 years in a life insurance or financial services environment
In-depth knowledge of IFRS 17 and other insurance-related accounting standards
Proven experience in technical reporting roles
Strong analytical and stakeholder engagement skills
Exposure to actuarial models and data flows
Experience working with large datasets and reporting systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, or similar)
Ability to manage tight deadlines in a dynamic regulatory environment
Qualification:
CA(SA) or equivalent qualification
Reporting actuary or quants
