Description:
Take end-to-end responsibility for all financial operations across multiple business units, including general ledger management, financial planning, compliance, cash management, and reporting functions
Deliver forward-thinking financial advice and data-driven insights to support decision-making and improve profit margins
Manage the preparation and delivery of financial statements for both internal stakeholders and external partners, maintaining clarity and punctuality
Direct the annual audit cycle, ensuring constructive collaboration with auditors and adherence to regulatory expectations
Strengthen liquidity through effective oversight of cash flow, working capital, and funding approaches
Drive the development and application of robust financial controls, procedures, and operational standards
Lead and mentor the finance team to achieve excellence, promoting ownership, development, and ongoing performance improvement
Collaborate with operational and commercial departments to align financial plans with broader business goals
Uphold full compliance with local legislation, IFRS guidelines, and the companys internal governance policies.
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 58 years of progressive experience in senior finance roles, preferably within high-output sectors such as manufacturing, milling, or fast-moving consumer goods
Deep capability in financial analysis, liquidity oversight, and comprehensive budgeting
In-depth knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS), South African fiscal regulations, and governance requirements
Skilled in advanced Excel functionalities and experienced with accounting platforms like Pastel Partner or similar ERP solutions
Leadership & Personal Qualities:
Visionary financial strategist with strong commercial awareness
Engaging team leader who excels at building capability and nurturing performance
Exceptionally detail-oriented and hands-on, willing to be actively involved in the daily workings of the business
Resilient under pressure, with a strong focus on delivery, especially in fluctuating market conditions impacted by commodity price shifts and currency volatility
Qualification:
BCom Accounting or Finance essential; Postgraduate
qualification (e.g., BCom Honours, CA(SA), CIMA) preferred
