Description:
A financial services company based in Johannesburg South has a vacancy available for a Health and Safety Manager to join their Facilities and Physical Security department. The ideal candidate must have at least 8+ years of experience in SHE management, preferably in a corporate or financial services environment, and at least 5 years of management work experience with a proven track record of implementing and maintaining safety systems and processes with an expert level application of the OHS Act.
This is a permanent in-house position with a hybrid working model, provident fund, medical aid, performance bonus, etc.
As a Manager of Safety Health and Environment (SHE), the primary responsibility will be to ensure a safe and compliant work environment by developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, environment policies, systems, frameworks, and procedures. This role involves proactive risk management, regulatory compliance, training of all relevant stakeholders, and fostering a culture of safety across the organization on-premises and off-premises with a no-harm strategy.
The Manager (SHE) will engage with a diverse set of stakeholders within and outside the organization. The key stakeholders include:
Internal: Facility Management Team, Operations Team, IT Department, Project Management Teams, Finance and Procurement Teams.
External: External Contractors and Vendors, Regulatory Authorities, Community and Environmental Groups, Government Agencies, Executive Leadership, Safety and Compliance Teams.

- Ensure that all contractors are managed according to SHE regulations, policies, frameworks, and standards including compliance with the Building Regulations and relevant Acts and various industry regulations. Review and approve contractor safety documentation concerning the OHS Act
