Description:
Our Client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Sales Director to lead their sales team in the hair care industry. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in sales and management, with a strong understanding of the hair care market and consumer trends.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company sales targets and objectives
- Lead and mentor a team of sales professionals, providing guidance, support, and training as needed
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners in the hair care industry
- Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to expand market share
- Analyse sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
- Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to ensure alignment of sales strategies with overall business goals
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote brand awareness and generate new leads
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred)
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in sales, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving profitable growth
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively
- Deep understanding of the hair care industry, including current trends and market dynamics
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in sales data analysis and reporting
- Ability to travel as needed to meet with customers and attend industry events

Education & Relevant Years Job Related Experience
Exceptional track record in leading extensive Sales Management
Strategic (trade marketing), Operational (key accounts and field sales), Category Management and experience in the South African trade environment
Multinational experience preferably within food industry
10+ years strategic planning, business analytics, commercial acumen and sales leadership in an FMCG setting
