Trainee Silo Operator (Herold)

SSK currently has the following career opportunity at their Grain Department in Herold.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will report directly to the Silo Manager, and will be primarily responsible for the following tasks:

• Handling of Grain Silo equipment during the intake, conditioning and dispatch of grain.
• Handling of Silo bag equipment during the intake and dispatch of grain.
• Monitoring grain handling equipment and reporting faults for maintenance and repair.
• Implementing hygiene by keeping the silo, equipment and premises clean and tidy.
• Continuous grain protection through timely fumigation as determined by the supervisor.
• Continuous monitoring of grain tube temperatures and timely reporting of deviations.
• Measuring grain tubes according to policy and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric) qualification
• Good physical condition
• Good computer skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Willingness to work long hours in seasonal times
• Willingness to work at heights and in a dusty environment
• A Valid Code B (Code 08) driver's license is a requirement
• Experience in driving a tractor is a requirement
